Nelson Toburen, a linebacker who earned two NFL championship rings with the Green Bay Packers under coach Vince Lombardi, has died at 87 after a fight against cancer.
Toburen was part of the Lombardi era, one of the most celebrated periods in Packers history. The team ruled the NFL during those years, and Toburen was a part of that period of dominance.
After his playing career ended, Toburen later worked as a judge in Kansas, a role that shaped his post-football years.
