The Rugby Football Union plans to hand England head coach Steve Borthwick a contract extension. The proposed deal would keep him in charge beyond the 2027 Rugby World Cup and past the 2028 Six Nations.
Borthwick would lead England at both competitions under the proposed agreement. His time in charge would continue after the next men's Rugby World Cup, before continuing through England's Six Nations campaign the following year.
The new contract would keep him in the role after the 2028 tournament had ended.
