Cristiano Ronaldo added his 980th career goal on Oct. 9, 2026, turning out for Al Nassr against Al Diriyah in the Saudi Pro League. The milestone strike came as a major milestone for the Portuguese forward.

It was his return to club action after reported friction with Portugal's national team setup. The win over Diriyah gave the club a much-needed lift heading further into the season.

Al Nassr's matchday roster also included multiple Gulf Cup champions for the Diriyah derby. The combination of talent has made Al Nassr a side to watch in the Saudi Pro League this season.

The goal moves him nearer to whatever record he is chasing in the Saudi Pro League. At this stretch of his time in Saudi football, each additional goal draws fresh attention around how far he can go.
