Spencer Matthews has set a marathon personal best of 2:49, with Runner's World reporting his training was grounded in data, science, and steady work. The result marks a strong performance for the British television personality who has become a serious endurance runner.

The time puts him among competitive amateur runners, and his approach to training has drawn attention for its methodical nature. Rather than relying on feel or instinct alone, Matthews followed a disciplined, numbers-based program.

Matthews is married to Vogue Williams, who has drawn coverage of her own this week after responding to critics. Those critics questioned her decisions in the early weeks of motherhood by going out with her one-month-old baby. Williams responded publicly to the comments.
