The Social Security Administration revealed a 3.6 percentage point cost-of-living adjustment for next year on the 14th of October 2026. The adjustment, based on current inflation data, will increase benefits for retirees. The announcement was reported by the Federal Budget Committee and a financial news network. High inflation has driven the increase, which will be implemented to Social Security benefits from the following year.
